Behavior Therapy Services

Dr. Kinnear is the only certified PCIT therapist in Parker County, and one of only a few in the larger DFW metroplex area.
Provided to children under the age of 7. Older children may be considered for this treatment on a case-by-case basis.

Dr. Kinnear has specific training in the treatment of SM and is experienced in delivering effective services for this population. She has helped many find their brave voice across settings and with new communication partners.
Dr. Kinnear will travel up to 90 minutes each direction, if direct support is needed in the school/daycare. Direct school support requires a 2 hour minimum session, plus travel fees.
Note: Children older than 9 years of age may be seen with an SM diagnosis, on a case by case basis.

Advanced Intensives will be considered for children that complete the initial course of treatment. Advanced intensives include community-based outings lasting at least 2-3 hours. Sessions target more complex communication, for a longer period of time, in a natural setting with peers and/or adults.

SPACE is an evidence-based therapy that focuses on reducing parental accommodation for children with anxiety related concerns.
Dr. Kinnear has received specific training in SPACE, and has worked with countless families on reducing anxiety across settings. Even outside of SPACE, Dr. Kinnear has always worked with parents to reduce accommodation of anxiety-based behaviors in a supportive way.
Treatment focused on children 9 years of age and below.

Behavior therapy is utilized to target disruptive behaviors. Parents can attend this therapy with or without their child.
Dr. Kinnear has specific training in the principles of applied behavior analysis and has used this framework to support families for the last 2 decades.
Behavior serves as a means of communication for young children. Therefore, time is spent understanding why a behavior is occurring, data is collected on the problematic behavior, and then a specific plan is tailored to meet the unique needs of the child and family.
Treatment focused on children 9 years of age and below.
