Session Rates

  • Dr. Kinnear is an out of network provider.

If your insurance provides out of network reimbursement for mental health services, you can request and be provided a superbill for each session.  This document allows you to submit the necessary information to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Kinnear Child Psychology itself does not specifically interact with insurance companies.  Instead, time is devoted to providing quality services and care to families.

  • During the initial appointment, Dr. Kinnear will meet with caregiver(s) ONLY to review policies/procedures, gather relevant medical and developmental history, and discuss information related to target concerns.  Caregiver(s) will also be asked to complete relevant behavior rating scales.

Initial appointments can be completed in clinic or virtually based on parent preference. Duration is 60-75 minutes.

*Note: Information gathered during this appointment will also be used to determine the best setting for treatment (virtual versus in-person).

  • Follow up sessions last 45-60 minutes each and include caregiver and/or child.

All first sessions include direct observation of caregiver-child interaction & developmentally appropriate child interview.

Subsequent sessions for PCIT, PCIT-SM, Behavior Therapy, and CBT include both caregiver(s) AND child.  At times, caregiver(s) may be seen without child or child may be seen alone.

For SPACE, all sessions will be parent only.

  • Federal Law dictates that you have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" outlining how much your medical and mental health care will cost, as indicated in the No Surprises Act and effective as of January 1, 2022. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who do not have health insurance, or who choose not to use health insurance, an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, which includes mental health care. You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, which includes mental health care. You can also ask your healthcare provider, or any provider you choose, for a "Good Faith Estimate" before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 USD more than your "Good Faith Estimate," you may dispute the bill. Make sure to keep a copy or take a picture of your "Good Faith Estimate," as you may need to refer to it later. For questions or more information about your right to a "Good Faith Estimate," visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises/consumers or call HHS at (800) 368-1019.
